After my post on Leapfish ripping consumers off – my post comes up on the first page of Google for “Leapfish Scam” so I receive many emails regarding this scam, and the latest ongoing email comes in from Lisa (and I’m so Nancy Grace right now):
I asked them (Capital One) to act as a Consumer Advocate for me in my letter …
I dug up everything I could find on them (LeapFish), and sent it to them. (Capital One) Since I cancelled within 24 hours, and I called Capital One to tell them, I don’t think they ever paid them .. I’m praying not!! Very nasty people (Leap Fish) … they did call again since then .. when I called back I got their answering machine .. I told him to email me with everything in writing ( they never do) so I could forward it to Capital One … so far, I haven’t heard back from them .. they don’t give up easily!

Five years ago, I learned a valuable lesson when I was ripped off by a designer who charged me $1800 for a website. I paid half down and never heard from the designer again. So to avoid this problem – I always use American Express for any charge.
So maybe our stories can help you make better decisions for your online purchases…

Update – Due to the new Visa regulations – chargebacks for consumers can only go back 90 days. I know this because 120 days ago, I found a DOUBLE charge. That’s right – my Visa card was charged $120 twice by Paypal.
I contacted Paypal. After speaking with three Paypal reps, they came to the conclusion that Paypal could NOT help. I need to contact the merchant or the credit card company.
After I contacted the merchant, the number had been disconnected.
After contacting the credit card company – they said there was NOTHING they could do.
Can you believe that? They find a mistake.. and they choose to do the “wrong” thing instead of right….
