It’s very rare that I see something, and I get excited about a product. That’s probably why you rarely see me promoting anything. Too much of the time, the copy is full of promises and misleading or doesn’t live up to what it says. Welcome back. Hope you had a fantabulistic weekend. Today’s Topic: Can you really make money with Google Adsense?
Back when Google Adwords was cool – we could advertise straight up affiliate links and make a fortune with 1 penny clicks. When Google changed their terms and pulled the plug on overnight PPC millionaires, a new way to make money emerged - Google Adsense.
6 years ago, every blog that I placed my Adsense on earned no more than $10 per blog (with most making PENNIES!). But the Google transformation had begun and here are my new numbers:
For every 451 visitors, I earn $11. SuperAffiliate.com gets around 63K visits per month. You can view your average monthly traffic here.
63K divided by 451 = 139 x $11 = $1,536 per month with Google Adsense.
The top three traffic sources:
#1) Email Marketing – When you opt-in to my list, I will NOT bombard you with affiliate links and other people’s offers. That would be a never-ending barage of emails, and you don’t want that. 23% of my traffic comes from my weekly updates!
#2) Twitter - 13% of my traffic comes from my TWEETS! If you do not know how to build a business by using Twitter only, you may want to check out my video here.
#3) Organic - All the search engines. This is why optimizing for keywords is very important. And now that I linked those keywords to my own posting, I’ll show up in the search engines for those words. :0)
So that doesn’t mean that you’ll be a Google Adsense millionaire, but think of niches that draw the MOST amount of visitors. Here’s what comes to mind:
- American Idol Gossip (or the latest “hit”)
- Myspace Graphics
- Song Lyrics
- Popular Singers
You see where this is going right? Millions of people searching for these terms every month, and they land on your site. Ka-ching.
