How I Have Used Easy Video Player

So over the next month, I’m going back to these recommendations and updating with how I’ve used the plugin over the last couple of years.  I look at these “reviews” and think I’ve gotten a little lazy when it comes to detailing and updating these.

What is Tim Ferriss Up To?

Remember the 4 Hour Workweek with Tim Ferriss? I remember when that book hit the marketing waves, and every marketer who worked day and night thinking about business, producing products, and marketing other people’s products dreamt of doing what they do but in 4 hours per week time!  I can name two people who took off immediately:  Kevin Wilke and John Reese.  They both said goodbye to their normal 6 am to midnight jobs to travel the world and experience what the world could teach them.  I think we all want that to a certain degree.   Like we’re going to step foot on a beach one morning and the skies are going to open up and fill our souls with all of life’s secrets.  For me, I hunger for balance within structure.  If you haven’t read “The 4-Hour Workweek” then get it today!  I love that book..  it reminds me that life is too short to become a financial slave and freedom can be yours once you setup the “residual income” that you need to survive.  (click the image to find out what Tim Ferriss is up to now!)

It’s another great week for online profits. This week, the Elliott family is gearing up for Halloween. That means Vampire Chicken and Spiderman costumes worn daily!

Welcome to Day 3 of DeliciousDelivery.com setup. I’m walking you through step by step how to setup a blog from start to finish. Today I added two new posts and created two new feature images to display on the Featured Content Galley.

Most people can’t judge by the photos of me – but I’m a big man. My love for food started in college when I played Rugby for North Texas. At that point, I was 6’3, 250 pounds (not fat, either). I was able to eat 4,000 to 5,000 calories and easily burn them off playing Rugby three times per week.

Well – fast forward to today – affiliate marketing gives me the freedom and the income to eat out for lunch, brunch, and dinner (sometimes all three!) I guess you could place me in the category of “healthy foodie” – meaning that I workout and exercise to eat.

I like food!

So I started DeliciousDelivery.com to show off all the places I am privileged to go to and the meals that I get to eat and recommend all the great food that you can get delivered right to your door. (Chocolates, Wine, Steaks, Seafood, and even, PET FOOD!)

It’s fun for me, and I recommend that you start blogs and sites that you think are fun because you’ll easily find content and create content for the site, and you’ll be happy promoting products that you really enjoy.

So today was an easy day. I have to admit – I did cheat.

I installed everything according to plan, but I could not get the pages to come up. NO WORRIES – I posted a project on Rent a Coder and for $10 – I was able to have someone fix the problem that I was having (and it took 10 minutes!)

Problem solved.

Next, I found two products in one of the CPA networks to promote and added two blog posts (nothing fancy – nothing too long – straight to the point).

Then, I created two graphics for the Featured Content (you can see them by clicking the keyword below:)

That’s it. Took about an hour total time on Day 3 – because of the Rent a Coder but normally, this would have taken no more than 30 minutes. The idea is not to worry about the content or creating a big site – it will all start filling in (you can see this after 3 days and 90 minutes later).

1. LACK OF COMMUNITY.

If you pick the wrong topic, you’re doomed from the beginning.  A membership site needs a wide customer base. Your topic should be specialized but not so narrow that you can’t attract new members on a consistent basis. Unlike a short report or niche site, your membership site topic has to be large enough that you can produce fresh content month after month. Pick a topic that a lot of people are interested in but that also has the potential for evergreen content.

2. LACK OF CONTENT.

Members of your site are looking for fresh content every month. You need to give this to them or they’ll unsubscribe in droves. You should develop an editorial schedule so you know exactly what you’ll deliver each month. This will help you stay on track. Base your editorial schedule on the benefits that you promised in your sales letter and you’ll have happy, satisfied customers that will stick around for month after month.

3. LACK OF CONVERSION.

Your sales letter is your 24/7 sales person. It doesn’t matter how much traffic you drive to your membership site if your sales letter isn’t doing its job. If you don’t trust your own copywriting skills, hire a professional writer. The investment will be well worth it as you see higher conversions and more members in your site.

4. LACK OF CIRCULATION.

You should always have new members coming into your membership site, but the only way you can do that is to market your site continually.

You should be conducting pay per click campaigns, distributing article marketing articles and doing social networking to drive more traffic to your site. Work this into your weekly plans so that you can keep the flow of new members consistent.

5. LACK OF CONNECTION.

When you start a membership site, your members are looking for a lot of attention and care. They want to connect with you.  Most of this will come in the form of an easy to use site with quality content. But you should also make it a point to be accessible through e-mail or a help desk function. There’s a high level of trust involved in a membership site, so make sure you’re there for your members.

6. LACK OF CREATIVITY.

If you’re not looking for opportunity for backend sales, you’re leaving money on the table.  Opportunities for backend sales exist in many different places in your membership site. You can sell advertising space within the site or create a platinum level of membership with special coaching. Just because the members are paying a monthly fee doesn’t mean they won’t be willing to pay for extra information on the site’s topic.

7. LACK OF COMMITMENT.

If you’re concentrating on getting members but aren’t worried about keeping them, you have a recipe for disaster on your hands.

Retention is critical. It takes much more effort to get a new member than it does to keep one that you’ve already got. By posting consistent content, offering polls, running contests and getting involved the community in your membership site, you’ll be able to hold onto the members you’ve got.

These 7 mistakes could be dooming your membership site.  Correct them and see your sales soar.

I had this project on the board that was posted to Elance, RentaCoder, Guru, and Another One I can’t remember on the top of my head – but every bid that came in was over $2,000 with a 2 to 3 month turnaround..

And the bidder’s design portfolio were all 1995 designs..  You know the ones where they use the old rectangle boxes as menus with the font overlapping the third menu box.. LOL

So I started Googling (cuz it’s fun..) and found oDesk.

This is Kit Elliott with SuperAffiliate.com. It’s a great day for online profits, and I’m really stoked about using the new “affiliate” linking strategy that got me listed on page 1 of Google in 2 days.

First, let’s review the five basic steps of affiliate marketing:

Keyword Research
Profitable Niche
Build WordPress (for SEO purposes)
Create 3 Posts
Get Traffic

For most people I run into – it’s the first and last step that cause a lot of “dropouts” or “you lost me” blank stares. That’s fine. I created two rule of thumbs for step one and found a great new affiliate tool for the last step..

Keyword Research (Basic Rule of Thumb)

1. If the keyword is getting 1,000 to 10,000 searches per month.
2. If the competition has less than 70,000 pages competing for that keyword in quotes. I really try to stick to less than 20,000 pages. The really odd thing – YOU KNOW IT WHEN YOU FIND A WINNER!

Let’s say you found a keyword for your niche that meets both. You have some affiliate products you want to promote. You quickly adopt the Build WordPress. I have video instructions on how to build a WordPress..

Create three posts concentrating on the keyword you want to target. Make sure this keyword is in the headline. It’s very simple. Name your graphics that keyword.. tag the post with those keywords.. and fill in your SEO All in One Plugin with those keywords.

Then, off to the last step: GET TRAFFIC!

This is the dropoff for most people, because it feels tedious.. it feels time consuming.. because you do some actions, and you don’t see immediate results.. What I’m about to show you – you should see results in 2 days.

I’ve been testing it out for different keywords, and I find that I get page one of Google within 2 days! (this is no exaggeration!)

I spent some time writing articles, but I’ve heard that Google is starting to slap “repeat” content that they find on all the article sites. The solution – simple software that rewrites that article using synonyms. It’s called Content Boss!

I use Content Boss, and then, submit my article using SENuke.. and then, I ping all the links that they create for me.

Two things happened:

SENuke keeps track of all those links. That would be a nightmare. The URL manager is a great tool so you can submit your article and your “rewritten” articles.. plus it keeps track of all those links.

What can you do with those links?

You can create a “all in one” RSS feed! And submit that link to RSS directories.. and ping it… using what?

You guessed it – SENuke!

Content Boss – Rewrite Articles

But that’s not right and it’s certainly not good search engine optimization (SEO). The dynamics around each page will always be changing:

• New pages will be linked to existing pages.
• Information may have become dated or there is better information to offer in its place.
• You may think of better ways to express the topical ideas.
• The addition of new pages to the site may shift the purpose or role of other pages.

If you’re writing sites for yourself …

If you’re writing your own websites, review your pages from time to time and consider the shifting relationships between connected pages, old and new. You’ll almost always find a way to make improvements. A shift in emphasis. The addition or deletion of links. A change in the text used for links.

Also, keep an eye on what is happening outside of your website. Has there been a shift in the number and kind of sites linking to your pages? Should that lead to some changes in what you first wrote?

And how about keywords? Are the phrases that worked well for you when you first wrote the page now a little out of date? Are there new buzzwords being used? Are new or better phrases becoming more popular? As the language shifts and changes in the universe of sites that link to your site, you may want to edit some of the titles, headings, and text you first wrote.

If you’re writing for an employer or as a freelancer …

If you work for an employer, you should raise your hand and let your managers know when web pages need to be updated. You’ll need to put a review system in place. You need to allocate time to do this and someone needs to be tasked with keeping his or her finger on the pulse of your most important pages. Are they working as hard as they can? Are they still relevant? Is the information current or can it be updated?

If you work as a freelancer, here is an opportunity to expand on every new project. Grow the scope of your relationship with your client by pointing out the need to have someone watch over the site and suggest updates and revisions as they become necessary or even just desirable. And, sometimes one page can turn into a several page assignment by keeping search engine optimization techniques in mind.

Concluding thoughts …

Websites can become dated quite quickly. Relationships between pages can lose their purpose and their relevance. Some pages need to be replaced, others need to be updated or simply improved, sometimes in minor but important ways.

A website is dynamic, always, meaning there never is a final draft, not for any page.
